The Portuguese forward is now making his mark on the history-books of Real Madrid as he is edging closer to Raul’s goal-scoring record which is 323 goals in 741 appearances.
Cristiano Ronaldo is only a few goals away from becoming the top goal-scorer of Real Madrid and he is about to do it in less than half of the amount of appearances that Raul managed to do during his playing career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Even with everything that C.Ronaldo has accomplished not only with Real Madrid but also with his former club Manchester United, the Portuguese attacker is not a fan favorite for many people around the world and this is due to the arrogant personality that the 30 year old player displays when he performs on the pitch.
There have a been a number of occasions where C.Ronaldo has been sanctioned and critiqued due to some of the goal celebrations and actions that the winger has made in certain games and this is another reason on why C.Ronaldo is not as admired as much as other top players such as: Lionel Messi or Ricardo Kaka who won the Ballon d’Or award back in 2007. The team suffered its worst defeat of the season in the 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
Apart from the defeat, the performances of Ronaldo have also been worrying the Spanish club. The former Manchester United star returned from a two match suspension against Atletico Madrid, but he failed to make any impact in the game. Ronaldo has to his name the most number of goals in the Premier League 38. In 2007-2008 he grabbed 31 goals which was equal to Luis Suarez last term for Liverpool. He then went to Madrid and notched up a fee of 80 million Euro.
The 323 goals made by Rauls seems to slide away by Ronaldo with his 274 goals already under his name. If he continues to keep up his winning ratio for La Liga then Real will progress fast. Ronaldo adapts to changes very quickly in an kind of situation and environment. He is not meant for football rather football is meant for him. There lies the difference and this is the impact which he makes on the game.
